MY RELIGION…

Well I have been a religiously neutral/secular or rather a religiously fractured person. As a child I have been educated in a convent school under the shelter of Jesus & Mary. I have had friends from different religious backgrounds…& at different point of time due to instability in the belief of different philosophies I have been confused to accept & follow a particular religion. I believe all religion have the same principles & beliefs but is only expressed in different forms as per the requirement of the people belonging to the race. The lines of religion weren’t enough that people have gone to the extent of drawing lines even within religion giving rise to caste ! Today we see that inspite of belonging to the same religion the sheer difference in caste can cause bickering amongst people. Its important to realize that if people belonging to the same religion cannot be united how on this Earth will the principle of EQUALITY be nourished. When we all belong to the same human race I feel the true religion of a human being is HUMANITY ! Today people abide to religion but who practices humanity in the true sense of the word ??

Religion as far as I view it…emphasizes on what to do ? What not to do ? What is right ? & What is wrong ? But I doubt if it teaches one to bring about a perfect coordination between what is taught & induced in human thinking, words & action. I get so confused as I see the contradiction observed in the words flashed in books & human behavior. Why is religion treated as Golden Words that we should accept blindly without questioning its existence ? What is the great use of that religion that we simply accept & pretend to follow it but are unable to practice it in reality ? We believe in people who practice what they preach so doesn’t the same principle hold true for religion also ? If not then why such a distinction between human & religion ? If a huge crowd of people follow a particular principle it doesn’t imply that it bears truth. One cannot judge the truth & reality in a religion simply by measuring the mass who pretentiously follow it.

One cannot deny that the birth determines the religion that we have to follow by the law of inheritance but GOD has created humans with an exceptionally unique quality of acquiring knowledge & wisdom so though our birth decides our religion it is upto us to rationalize & discover the truth and reality disguised behind the religion & follow only that religion which appeals to the reality & practicality of life. Or else it would be a waste to the human race that inspite of being humans we show no difference from that of an animal ??

I think as an Indian we should follow the religion of HUMANITY…treating the INDIAN CONSTITUTION as the holy book but this is not sufficient! Along with the strong foundations of fraternity, unity & equality there is a need of a universal religion that will mould our character and boost our morality in a positive manner thus building a wonderful nation symbolizing compassion & peace…feeling pride in being an INDIAN!! I always wanted to go through every tits & bits of religion to decide on which religion appeals the most to me…I have laid the foundation by starting to read the basic religious books but lets see how far I succeed !!
